Spider Veins

What are Spider Veins?

Spider veins are hereditary and can occur anywhere on the body but are most commonly found on the legs. We treat spider veins using sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy injects small amounts of an FDA approved solution into the vein using an extremely small needle. The solution causes the vein wall to become damaged and then your body reabsorbs this just like it would a bruise. After we ask you to wear compression stockings for about 3 days, which helps with the healing and resolution process.

How many treatments will I need?

The average patient requires 3-5 sessions depending on severity. Spider veins are a process and each vein needs treated multiple times however, we get a lot done in each session.

How fast will my Spider Veins fade?

The fading process of spider veins occurs over time and you will see improvement after each treatment. Once we get your veins cleared, we recommend seeing us about once a year in order to maintain your results.

Do the injections hurt?

The needles we use are extremely small and most people hardly know we are injecting them. The solution is painless and the only thing we expect you to feel after the treatment is mild bruising. Should you need anything, something over the counter is sufficient.

What solutions do you use?

We use an FDA approved solution called Polidocanol which is safe, effective and painless. The incidence of allergic reaction is <0.1% in the entire world.
